Island view

In recent news, we heard that Batam and Bintan islands will be reopened for Singapore travellers under some guidelines. This is a piece of good news for most Singapore residents as Batam and Bintan of Indonesia are some of the most popular weekend getaways. This news reminded me of some of the photos of our Batam and Bintan trips which I couldn’t share. Therefore, in this post, I want to feature some of our photos from our Indonesia, Batam getaway in 2019. Well, these are not some pictures of Batam island and its attractions. But, these are photos of the ocean and the sky during our departure from Batam to Singapore by ferry.

At the time of departure from Indonesia, Batam, it was raining. Therefore, I couldn’t take clear pictures.

Lately, no more heavy rains. Outside the window was clear. I could enjoy the ocean and sky views while traveling from Batam to Singapore ferry terminal.

Clear views of Sentosa Island reminded us that we were reaching Singapore. Although it was just after a rain, sky was clear and ocean was calm.

Although I had fear of travelling by ferry, after this trip there is no more fear of sea travel. 🙂 We even travelled to Bintan by ferry after a few months.

  1. We have traveled by ferry a few times to visit some islands off the New England coast (Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket) and I like travelling by ferry. It seems relaxed and festive at same time. What beautiful photos.

  2. Your photos are beautiful Amiila! I’m glad you enjoyed your ferry ride. I love being on the water but it’s been way too long since I’ve been out there. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for joining us at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy!

  3. Wonderful ocean views that look exotic to me. Ferry travels are very popular in Finland: From Finland to Sweden and Estonia, but that is not what I like. I prefer airplane.

  4. Thanks for sharing, I like it. I never traveled in that direction, always south or west. I can’t tell you why.

Wishing you an beautiful weekend and sending greetings from my island

  5. Beautiful photos. I have been to Singapore and to Sentosa Island but that was many years ago and would be very different from when I last visited. I haven’t been to Batam but I know it is a popular getaway place.
